Diamond Country Club – Comeback after the flood »Golf at the highest level.« This is the guiding principle of the LEADING GOLF COURSES. Representatives of the member companies talk about the ideas and values behind it.

By Christian Guzy, Golfclub Manager Diamond Country Club: »Comeback after the flood«

Eight months ago, flooding turned our Diamond Course into a lake, with two meters of water covering parts of the fairways and greens. Despite this, the course reopened just six months later. With the support of Olazábal Designs, 22 hectares of turf, ten new greens, and completely renovated Durabunkers were laid in record time. We used the crisis as an opportunity to optimize the layout: a carry drive over the lake on hole 1, an island green on hole 6, and a state-of-the-art practice area have significantly enhanced the course, both in terms of playability and appearance.

What moves me most is the community. In addition to my fantastic team, we would like to express our sincere thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible for us to reopen so quickly!

Our championship course remains one of the most challenging golf courses in Austria: long tees by the water, lightning-fast greens and a demanding layout that appeals to professionals and amateur golfers alike, albeit at different levels. Speaking of differences: three courses, a four-star hotel and the boathouse on the 18th green make every round a mini vacation.

Our membership in The Leading Golf Courses is a daily yardstick and commitment to maintain this new level of quality in the long term.

With sporty greetings!
