I’m a former rally driver* and an idealist – someone who’s still fully committed to the sport. Here in the Adamstal, as a family-run business, we all work together to make sure everything runs smoothly: my wife Rolanda, my sons and I. And I’m still the sort of person who walks around the course with my eyes wide open, taking notes and immediately spotting where things could be improved.

The course itself has grown over many years: we started with nine holes, then added the second and third nines – always with the ambition to really get the best out of this special terrain. What makes Adamstal so special, for me, is its unique location: streams, undulating terrain, woodland, rocks and a design that blends into the landscape. When I stand at the top and look down, I still think to myself today: “It’s amazing what we’ve achieved here!” No wonder guests from all over the world come to us.

With Leading Golf Courses, it has always been important to me that the course is assessed objectively from the outside – anonymously, independently and by players of all abilities. That’s exactly what you need, because over time you might become a bit too close to the situation. When you receive honest feedback, you stay alert and don’t rest on your laurels.
