Thomas Kirchler, 26, former ÖFV-squad player from GC Achensee: »Tradition meets innovation«

My parents took me to the golf course when I was about six years old. Through the children's and youth training, I eventually joined the team and also the Tyrolean national squad.
 
In the meantime, golf is less about the sporting aspects for me, but more about the enjoyment and relaxation in the fresh air, in a beautiful environment. Especially important to me is the contact with friends and acquaintances in our Golf Club, by the way the oldest in Tyrol and one of the first in Austria.
 
The special thing about our course is its location at the Achensee and the embedding in nature. You start directly in the village and from hole 2 you are in the middle of the forest and enjoy the idyllic peace. The fairways are in top condition, the heavily undulated greens are a dream and everywhere you can see a lot of attention to detail. With the new, great short game area and the rebuilt holes 1 and 18, the traditional club also demonstrates a spirit of innovation. That is what distinguishes us as a Leading Golf Course - that we are always evolving and always want to compete with the best.
